(Huntington, WV)  OVP HEALTH will soon expand its growing, regional business operations to provide key hospital services at OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital, in Athens, OH, and Buchanan General Hospital, in Grundy, VA.

Based in Huntington, WV, OVP HEALTH will begin providing emergency department services at OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital on November 12, 2019, and both emergency department and hospitalist services at Buchanan General Hospital on February 1, 2020.

OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital is a 132-bed facility that offers adult medical and surgical care, an adult intensive care unit and labor and delivery services. The hospital had 2,508 inpatient admissions and 29,942 emergency department visits in 2017.

OVP HEALTH provides key medical services at three other Ohio hospital facilities, including Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, and Holzer Meigs Emergency Department in Pomeroy.

Buchanan General Hospital is a 49-bed facility that provides acute care, emergency care and general medical and surgical services to patients in surrounding areas of Virginia, Kentucky and West Virginia. The hospital had 10,880 emergency department visits and 508 inpatient admissions in 2018. Buchanan General’s contract with OVP HEALTH will be the company’s first business outreach into the state of Virginia.

OVP HEALTH provides an extensive range of emergency department and hospitalist services for hospitals; operates primary care and after-hours facilities; and offers an accredited medication-assisted treatment and counseling program for people suffering from opioid addiction in a growing number of communities across West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, South Carolina and, soon, Virginia.
